Trust begins with transparency. Communication is the key to resolving issues and ensuring citizens are informed and engaged in the decision-making process.
Since holding elected office, I have proven and dedicated myself to transparency and accessibility. I have welcomed and encouraged citizens to contact me directly by phone or email. In addition, I conduct a “Facebook Live” twice a month to explain upcoming City Council meeting agendas and provide a platform to discuss any other topics constituents may have.
Leaders should exhibit integrity, honesty, and empathy. By doing so, we become more inclusive and effective. In addition, our citizens feel their voices matter and believe in the process that governs them.
